Union Cabinet gives approval for private sector participation in space activities
  • The Union Cabinet has approved historic reforms in the space sector.
  • These reforms are aimed at boosting private sector participation in all space activities.
  • The Union Cabinet has approved setting up of Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe).
  • This organisation will have the responsibility to promote and guide the private sector in various space activities.
  • Also, NSIL will have the responsibility to change the economic and social policies for encouraging the private sector in space activities.
  • New Space India Limited (NSIL) is a Central Public Sector Enterprise of Government of India.
  • The main objective of NSIL is to scale up industry participation in Indian space programmes.
