Government extends validity of driving licenses amid COVID-19 lockdown
  • The central government has extended the validity of documents like driving licenses that expired since 1 February 2020.
  • The validity of these documents has been extended till 30 June.
  • This will enable hassle-free transportation of cargo during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 lockdown.
  • The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has notified all states and union territories in this regard.
  • The documents include
  1. fitness of vehicles
  2. all types of permits
  3. driving license
  4. vehicle registration
  5. any other related document under the Motor Vehicles act
