Antarctica hits record high temperature

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has confirmed that a high temperature of 18.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Antarctica.
This was recorded at Esperanza Base in February 2020.
Esperanza base is Argentina’s research station on the Antarctic Peninsula.
The previous record for high temperature was 17.5 degrees Celsius recorded at the same station in 2015.
